We might be partial to the colour green because it’s part of our corporate style, but there are many other more environmentally responsible reasons why we like to think of ourselves as green.
At Mariart, we understand the importance of protecting environmental values as part of our global community. We’re always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. We’re committed to sustainable development, responsible environmental management, conservation of resources, prevention of pollution and compliance with relevant legislation.
As well as being proud Landcare supporters, we use green power, and have an internal environmental policy which consists of recycling all that we can, and reducing our paper, ink and water usage as much as possible. We use energy efficient equipment, and sustainable or biodegradable products
whenever possible.
We’re are also current participants of ‘ecoBiz’, a Qld Government initiative. EcoBiz is a partnership program with Department of Environmental Management & Resources and Queensland business and industry, which assists businesses to identify efficiencies in waste, water and energy for improved environmental performance.
As far as our supply channels go, we aim to work with environmentally aware suppliers whenever feasible. We keep up to speed with different printing processes that lessen the impact on the environment, such as waterless or digital printing. As part of our print management service we encourage clients to support paper merchants who conform to strict environmental and quality standards, using mills that are accredited with either EMAS (Eco-Managment and Audit Scheme), FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or WMF (Well Managed Forests). We also encourage clients to order the required amount of print material only, to eliminate waste wherever possible.
As an ongoing commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, through www.carbonneutral.com.au, we plant a tree on behalf of our clients for every digital or offset print job we manage.
